Game Preview
Mike Krueger

Predicted Score: Patriots 31, Bengals 20

New England: We'll all be expecting fireworks Monday night… let's hope we don't get a dud. I'm sure the Patriots will hold up their end of the bargain. This offense looks unstoppable, specifically Tom Brady and Randy Moss. Brady leads all QBs with 10 touchdowns and Moss is the top fantasy receiver, averaging 23.4 FPts per game. With these two playing against a suspect Bengals secondary this game could get ugly quick. The Patriots have also had success running the ball with Maroney and Sammy Morris who vultures TDs and continues to frustrate Maroney owners (myself included). Wes Welker is a viable #3 fantasy receiver, making the most out of his 24 targets (20 catches, 1 TD). TE Ben Watson has scored in every game this season. Get these guys in your lineup, as the final numbers should be big.

  • Start: QB Tom Brady, WR Randy Moss, RB Laurence Maroney, WR Wes Welker
  • Consider: TE Ben Watson, Patriots D/ST
  • Sit: RB Sammy Morris

Cincinnati: The Bengals are a fantasy owners dream. A high-powered offense with a pop-warner defense. The result? Big numbers for Palmer, the Johnson's, and Houshmandzadeh. We do have a problem this week as running back Rudi Johnson is going to sit with a hamstring injury. Kenny Watson will get the start, which may slow down the Bengals offensive rhythm. Watson has been adequate in the third-down role but will be asked to carry the load against a stout rush defense. Palmer and the wideouts are still good plays but even at the Bengals lack the personnel to play with the Patriots at this time.

  • Start: QB Carson Palmer, WR Chad Johnson, WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh
  • Consider: RB Kenny Watson, K Shayne Graham
  • Sit: RB Rudi Johnson (inj), TE Reggie Kelley, Bengals D/ST
