Game Preview

Predicted Score: Patriots 24 Cowboys 20
New England: You can't help but wonder if this game is a Super Bowl preview of two top offenses and two top-ten defenses. The Patriots have been nothing short of dominant to start the season. Tom Brady has thrown at least 3 TDs in his first five games and New England's defense ranks 2nd in yards allowed. Running back Laurence Maroney has missed the last two games with a groin injury and has been limited in practice again this week. Expect Sammy Morris to start with modest success. After last Monday night's debacle win by Dallas (against Buffalo) you have to think the Patriots are a slighter better team but this game should come down to the wire with both teams playing well enough on defense to keep these high-powered offenses slightly below their season averages.
- Start: QB Tom Brady, WR Randy Moss, RB Sammy Morris, TE Ben Watson
- Consider: WR Wes Welker, Patriots D/ST
- Sit: RB Laurence Maroney
Dallas: Tony Romo and the Cowboys head into this week's marquee game against the Patriots still breathing a sigh of relief. Romo was off his game against the Bills, making bad decisions and forcing throws eventually leading to 5 interceptions and a Cowboys victory. Unbelievable! If he plays the same this week, Dallas won't squeak out a 25-24 win, they'll be lucky to lose by 30. I expect the Cowboys to play better at home… they have to, but I'll give the slight edge to the Patriots in what should be a game in doubt late in the fourth quarter. Jason Witten ranks second among tight ends with 29 catches.
- Start: QB Tony Romo, RB Marion Barber, WR Terrell Owens, TE Jason Witten
- Consider: RB Julius Jones, WR Patrick Crayton, Cowboys D/ST
- Sit: WR Terry Glenn (inj)
