Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Ravens 17, Rams 10
Baltimore: We knee last week's game against San Francisco would be ugly and this one may follow the same script. Both teams are struggling on offense with the only bright spot between the two being running back Willis McGahee. The Ravens may get one of their biggest weapons back; Tight End Todd Heap (ankle) is practicing this week and expected to return. Heap, McGahee's running, and a stingy Ravens defense (#4) should be enough to take care of the injury-riddled Rams. Derrick Mason continues to be the teams' biggest receiving threat. He's averaging almost 9 catches per game.
- Start: RB Willis McGahee, TE Todd Heap
- Consider: QB Kyle Boller, WR Derrick Mason, WR Demetrius Williams
- Sit: WR Mark Clayton
St. Louis: What happens when you lose key starters like Orlando Pace, Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson? You start the season 0-5. Jackson and Bulger will sit again this week giving another start to Gus Frerotte and Brian Leonard. Both are marginal plays against a strong Ravens defense although Leonard did have a nice game against Arizona last week rushing for 100 yards and receiving 33. He may be forced into your lineup with six teams sitting out on bye. Continuing on the injury front, Isaac Bruce missed last week's game with a bad hamstring and is not practicing the is week. It's likely he'll sit and watch with the rest of us as the Rams move to 0-6 on the season.
- Start: WR Torry Holt, WR Drew Bennett
- Consider: RB Brian Leonard, QB Gus Frerotte
- Sit: WR Isaac Bruce QB Marc Bulger, RB Steven Jackson, TE Randy McMichael, K Jeff Wilkins
