Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Giants 27, Falcons 20
Atlanta: The Falcons benched Joey Harrington for a brief moment but don't worry Falcons' fans, Harrington will return to the starting lineup this week minus his two starting offensive tackles… enough said. It's hard to recommend any fantasy plays from this team. Warrick Dunn has yet to crack 70 yards rushing and Jerious Norwood simply isn't getting enough carries. Tight end Alge Crumpler may be your best bet, but he's coming off a two-catch, 4-yard performance that doesn't inspire confidence. Keep them all on your bench unless your desperate. Note: The visiting team has won the last eleven meetings in the series.
- Start: TE Alge Crumpler
- Consider: RB Warrick Dunn
- Sit: RB Jerious Norwood, WR Roddy White QB Joey Harrington, WR Joe Horn, WR Michael Jenkins
New York Giants: The Giants defense must be licking their chops. Just two weeks removed from a 6-sack game against the Eagles, defensive end Osi Umenyiora and the rest of his buddies will face two new starting offensive tackles for the Falcons this week. Veteran left tackle Wayne Gandy is out for the season after tearing an ACL in last week's loss to Tennessee, and right tackle Todd Weiner out for two weeks after undergoing knee surgery Wednesday. Advantage: New York. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress continues to produce despite playing on one good and ankle but could be matched up against DeAngelo Hall most of the game. The return of Brandon Jacobs should give the Giants enough firepower to overcome the Falcons and hopefully the Monday night crew will mute any Michael Vick talk.
- Start: QB Eli Manning (shoulder), WR Plaxico Burress, TE Jeremy Shockey
- Consider: RB Brandon Jacobs, RB Derrick Ward WR Amani Toomer, Giants D/ST
- Sit: WR Steve Smith
