Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Titans 21, Buccaneers 17
Tennessee: The Titans continue post modest offensive numbers but continue to post marks in the win column. Vince Young has yet to throw for more than 200 yards but is completing passes at a 60% clip. LenDale White and Chris Brown continue to share the running load but neither is averaging four yards-per-carry. Brandon Jones leads the team with 13 catches and 172 yards receiving. How is this team winning given these pedestrian numbers? I don't know either, but I'll take them by four over the Bucs.
- Start: Titans D/ST
- Consider: RB LenDale White, RB Chris Brown, QB Vince Young, TE Bo Scaife
- Sit: WR Brandon Jones, TE Ben Troupe, WR Roydell Williams, WR Eric Moulds
Tampa Bay: The Bucs have been decimated at the running back position losing both Cadillac Williams (knee) for the year and Michael Pttman (ankle) for at least a couple months. In steps Earnest Graham who gets the challenge of facing a Titans defense which that ranks in the top five against the run. Good luck Earnest. Tampa's passing game is no great shakes either. Jeff Garcia hasn't thrown for over 200 yards since Week 2 so its no coincidence wide receiver Joey Galloway has cooled off since his outburst against the Saints. One facet of the Bucs' offense needs to get on track in order for Tampa to have a chance and playing at home should help, but look for Tennessee to win ugly, like they always do.
- Start: N/A
- Consider: RB Earnest Graham, QB Jeff Garcia, WR Joey Galloway, TE Alex Smith
- Sit: RB Cadillac Williams (inj), RB Michael Pittman, WR Ike Hilliard, TE Jerramy Stevens
