Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Ravens 20, Bills 10
Baltimore: This game may be a little closer than you might expect. The Ravens will be starting Kyle Boller at quarterback for the injured Steve McNair and although their record may not reflect it, The Bills tend to play well at home. This is a nice revenge game for Willis McGahee who returns to Buffalo. He didn't leave on the best of terms so don't be surprised if puts up season-high numbers against the team that traded him during the offseason. McGahee was held out of practice on Wednesday (general soreness) but is expected to play. Tight end Todd Heap left last week's game, reaggravating his strained hamstring so check on his availability later in the week.
- Start: RB Willis McGahee, WR Derrick Mason
- Consider: TE Todd Heap
- Sit: WR Mark Clayton, QB Kyle Boller, WR Demetrius Williams
Buffalo: The Bills will stick with rookie quarterback Trent Edwards this week even though J.P.Losman is healthy and available for action. Buffalo has had two weeks to thing about that crushing loss to Dallas and should be fired up at home but will have trouble moving the ball against the Ravens defense, which matches up well against the Bills offense. The Baltimore-D ranks third against the run and should line-up with the purpose of stopping Marshawn Lynch forcing the rookie quarterback to beat them. If that's the scenario, I'll take the Ravens.
- Start: RB Marshawn Lynch
- Consider: WR Lee Evans
- Sit: QB Trent Edwards, TE Robert Royal WR Peerless Price, WR Josh Reed
