Predicted Score: Titans 16, Panthers 10
Tennessee: Does anybody win ugly more than the Titans? In a 13-9 win against Oakland last week Vince Young threw for 42 yards and completed just 6 passes. Tom Brady throws for 42 yards in one drive. Whatever the method, it works for Tennessee (5-2) and should work again this week against a Panthers team that can't find a healthy quarterback to even take snaps. Both David Carr (back) and Vinny Testaverde (ankle, achilles) are banged up will be significantly less than 100% on Sunday. The Titans will run the ball with LenDale White who's notched back to back 100 yard rushing games, and Tennessee's defense will have no problem stopping Carolina on the ground and through the air. Any ugly game… just the way the Titans like it.
- Start: RB LenDale White, Titans D/ST
- Consider: N/A
- Sit: QB Vince Young TE Bo Scaife, RB Chris Brown, WR Brandon Jones, TE Ben Troupe, WR Roydell Williams, WR Eric Moulds
Carolina: It appears David Carr may get the start Sunday as the revolving door at quarterback continues for Carolina. Last week's starter Vinny Testaverde injured his Achilles tendon and has missed practice time this week as a result. Carr has injury problems of his own, claiming he feels at about 80% with a sore back and has trouble bending over taking a snap. Their coming of a 7-point outburst against the Colts last week and now face and equally tough defense in Tennessee. Steve Smith was held to two catches against Indianapolis and DeShaun Foster scored the lone touchdown. The Panthers will take their lumps and look forward to greener pastures next week against the Falcons.
- Start: WR Steve Smith
- Consider: RB DeShaun Foster, TE Jeff King
- Sit: QB David Carr, RB DeAngelo Williams, WR Drew Carter WR Keary Colbert, WR Dwayne Jarrett
