Cincinnati: Two teams heading down a slippery slope collide in Baltimore this week. For their part, the Bengals are 2-6 and may be without Chad Johnson who was carted off the field last week after injuring his neck. He's not scheduled to practice this and has yet to be ruled out, but I'd be surprised to see him on the field this week. Just in time, Chris Henry has been added to the roster after completed his eight-game suspension for violating the league's conduct policy. Rudi Johnson continues to be limited with his hamstring injury while Kenny Watson turned in a respectable day receiving (7-90) but is only a "consideration" with Rudi still receiving playing time. "We're just not a very good football team," said quarterback Carson Palmer. Carson's right, but Baltimore isn't any better and the Bengals are just good enough to win this game, even on the road.
- Start: QB Carson Palmer, WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh
- Consider: RB Kenny Watson
- Sit: WR Chad Johnson, RB Rudi Johnson, K Shayne Graham, TE Reggie Kelley, Bengals D/ST
Baltimore: How old does Steve McNair look these days? He looked absolutely horrible in a blowout loss (38-7) to the Steelers Monday night. McNair returned after missing two games with a groin injury, but only completed 13 of 22 passes for 63 yards. He was sacked five times, fumbled twice, and intercepted once. Willis McGahee suffered a concussion late in the game but is expected to play but don't be surprised if Musa Smith gets more carries to help lighten the load on Willis. If Baltimore wants to salvage this season you'll see Kyle Boller in the starting lineup however that change isn't likely to happen occur until Brian Billick gets stuck with another bad loss… like one to the Cincinnati Benglas at home.
- Start: RB Willis McGahee, WR Derrick Mason
- Consider: N/A
- Sit: TE Todd Heap, WR Mark Clayton, WR Demetrius Williams, QB Kyle Boller
