Game Preview
Mike Krueger

Predicted Score: Seahawks 26, 49ers 7

San Francisco: The 49ers sport the worst offense in the league, averaging 224 yards and 13 points per game. Their star running back cannot stay out of the trainer's room and their promising young quarterback continues to look like a rookie, overthrowing receiving and making poor game management decisions. Tight end Vernon Davis has been the only bright spot the last two weeks averaging 74 yards per game and 6 catches. All other San Francisco players should be avoided. Let's see how the Monday night crew tries to hype up this debacle?

  • Start: TE Vernon Davis
  • Consider: N/A
  • Sit: QB Alex Smith, RB Frank Gore, WR Darrell Jackson,WR Arnaz Battle, 49ers D/ST

Seattle: The Seahawks woes in the running game may turn Mike Holmgren into Mike Martz. "I was encouraged by our receivers and how we threw the ball last night," Holmgren said Monday." And that might be the way we have to go now. Play to our strengths just a little bit." The strength has certainly not been Shaun Alexander who left last week's game with knee and ankle injuries, which will likely give more opportunities to Maurice Morris. 60-40 pass ratio should benefit the likes of Hasselbeck, Engram and D.J. Hackett who returned to the starting lineup last week. He was promptly targeted eight times and hauled in 6 catches for 58 yards and 1 score. Bobby Engram turned in a monster game with 14 recpetions, 139 yards and a touchdown of his own and should be in your lineup every week. The Seahawks passing game should mop up against the hapless 49ers.

  • Start: QB Matt Hasselbeck, WR Bobby Engram, K Josh Brown
  • Consider: WR Nate Burleson, D.J. Hackett, Seahawks D/ST
  • Sit: RB Shaun Alexander, WR Deion Branch, TE Marcus Pollard
