Game Preview

Predicted Score: Redskins 24, Eagles 17
Washington: The Redskins went to their bread and butter last week running Clinton Portis 36 times for 196 yards in a 23-20 overtime win against the Jets. Coach Joe Gibbs said the win was "more the look of what I envision Redskins football being." So we should expect another healthy dose of Portis this week against the Eagles although the yards may be hard to come by. The Eagles defense has only allowed one 100-yd rusher this season (Thomas Jones) and rank seventh in the league at stopping the run. The Redskins do have fond memories to fall back on, beating the Eagles earlier this year, in Philadelphia 20-12. Quarterback Jason Campbell threw for 209 yards and 1 TD in that game and also ran for 39 yards. Santana Moss (heel, hamstring) has been limited in practice this week
- Start: RB Clinton Portis, TE Chris Cooley, Redskins D/ST
- Consider: WR Antwaan Randle El
- Sit: WR Santana Moss, QB Jason Campbell, RB Ladell Betts
Philadelphia: The Eagles have a tough road in front of them, sitting at 3-5 in tough division, with an under-performing offense. The cries for Kevin Kolb are getting louder and louder as Donovan McNabb sinks further and further down the QB ratings (13th). The lone bright spot is do-everything running back Brian Westbrook (14 receptions last week) who continues to be a must start. The same cannot be said for the Eagles receivers as both Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown lack consistency with only three 100-yd games between them. But wait… just when things look bleak, here's a stat for ya; the Eagles have won six of their last seven road games against the Redskins. I hate to go against a strong trend but make that six out of eight.
- Start: RB Brian Westbrook
- Consider: QB Donovan McNabb, WR Kevin Curtis, WR Reggie Brown, TE L.J. Smith
- Sit: TE Matt Schobel, Eagles D/ST
