Predicted Score: Cowboys 34, Giants 24
New York Giants: Coming off their bye and six straight wins, the Giants face a big game against their division rival in what should be one of the more entertaining games of the weekend. Brandon Jacobs has given the Giants a spark in the running game but only had 27 yards against Dallas thanks to an injured knee. Plaxico Burress continues to be bothered by his sprained ankle, which limits his practice time but not his stat line. He currently ranks sixth among fantasy wideouts and fourth in touchdowns (8). Another weapon will be needed if the Giants expect to grab a victory. Jeremy Shockey has sunk to mediocrity among tight ends so the burden falls on Amani Toomer and Eli Manning to fill in the gaps… not a gamble I'm willing to take.
- Start: QB Eli Manning, WR Plaxico Burress,
- Consider: RB Brandon Jacobs, TE Jeremy Shockey, WR Amani Toomer
- Sit: Giants D/ST RB Derrick Ward, WR Steve Smith
Dallas: The Cowboys won a shootout (45-35) in the first meeting between these two teams and this game should be no different. Dallas ranks second in offense and total points (behind the Patriots) and although the Giants defense has improved they Cowboys still pose matchup problems for every team they face. Owens and Witten are among the league leaders at their positions and although Julius Jones remains the official starter, Marion Barber is seeing more carries and touches… as he should. Look for good games from the usual suspects (Romo, Owens, Witten) and an entertaing win for the Boys pushing their record to 8-1. Patrick Crayton continues be a non-factor until the gameplan once again calls for Owens to be a decoy.
- Start: QB Tony Romo, WR Terrell Owens, TE Jason Witten
- Consider: RB Marion Barber, RB Julius Jones
- Sit: WR Patrick Crayton, Cowboys D/ST, WR Terry Glenn (inj)
