Predicted Score: Raiders 13, Vikings 7
Oakland: The Raiders are the latest team to pull the ole' switcheroo at quarterback. Daunte Culpepper will get the call this week against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. "When you go to a place that you played before obviously emotion is going to be a part of it," Culpepper said Wednesday. "But the main thing is I have to try to keep an even keel." Josh McCown has started the last two games (both losses) and missed practice Wednesday with a bruised thigh. For what its worth, Culpepper has completed 56 percent of his passes for 817 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions… considering the options it may be time for JaMarcus Russell? For this week it will be Culpepper against another pitiful offense in a game that nobody will watch.
- Start: N/A
- Consider: RB Justin Fargas, WR Ronald Curry, TE Zach Miller
- Sit: QB Daunte Culpepper, RB LaMont Jordan, WR Jerry Porter
Minnesota: The Vikings suffered a huge blow last week losing Adrian Peterson to a torn lateral collateral ligament that should keep him out of action at least a couple weeks. Chester Taylor will be called upon to carry the load and provide the only spark to what is at best a dismal offense. The Vikings passing game ranks 31st in the league just ahead of the 49ers and quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is still seeking his first 200-yd passing game. What am I saying… Jackson hasn't thrown for more than 166 yards in any game this season! Start Chester Taylor but steer clear of this game and watch the highlights (or lowlights) Sunday night.
- Start: RB Chester Taylor
- Consider: N/A
- Sit: RB Adrian Peterson, QB Tarvaris Jackson TE Visanthe Shiancoe, WR Troy Williamson, WR Bobby Wade, WR Sidney Rice
