Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Cowboys 24, Redskins 13
Washington: The Redskins lost a crucial game to the Eagles last week and now face another team within the division that just so happens to be the best team in the NFC. The Cowboys welcome the Redskins this week who have their running game in full swing with Clinton Portis but are decimated with injuries at the wide receiver position. Santana Moss missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with an injured heel and his replacement, James Thrash is out with a high ankle sprain. Antwaan Randle El will likely play, but has been bothered by groin and hamstring injuries all season. If the game stays close enough you may see Portis get another 30 carries but the Redskins are out-gunned here and can't stop the Cowboys, they can only hope to contain them.
- Start: RB Clinton Portis, TE Chris Cooley
- Consider: WR Antwaan Randle El
- Sit: WR Santana Moss, Redskins D/ST, RB Ladell Betts, QB Jason Campbell
Dallas: After a win against the Giants last week, the Cowboys sit two games above everyone else in their division and can deliver a knockout blow with a win over Washington this week. Tony Romo and Terrell Owens continue to light up the scoreboard while Marion Barber and Julius Jones continue to share carries and frustrate fantasy owners. The Redskins defense has been solid against the run this year so I wouldn't expect any fireworks from the Dallas rushing game but after big games by McNabb and Brady in recent weeks, Romo and the Dallas wide receivers should continue their hot streak.
- Start: QB Tony Romo, WR Terrell Owens, TE Jason Witten
- Consider: RB Marion Barber, RB Julius Jones, WR Patrick Crayton, Cowboys D/ST
- Sit: WR Terry Glenn (inj)
