Game Preview

Predicted Score: Buccaneers 17, Falcons 7
Tampa Bay: The Bucs sit atop the hapless NFC South which isn't saying much but they are in first place and are getting closer to full strength as running back Michael Pittman, tight end Alex Smith, and wide receiver Michael Clayton are all expected to be available this week. The return of Pittman could cut into the playing time of Earnest Graham who's coming off a 34-carry 124-yd performance against Arizona. Clayton has been a non-factor in the Bucs passing game so his return is a non-factor as Garcia routinely looks to Joey Galloway for big plays downfield. Tampa is the better team although their road record (1-3) leaves something to be desired. Let's see if they can buck the trend (sorry) and beat a below-average team on the road.
- Start: WR Joey Galloway
- Consider: RB Earnest Graham
- Sit: TE Alex Smith, QB Jeff Garcia, WR Ike Hilliard, TE Jerramy Stevens
Atlanta: Before you start buying your playoff tickets Falcons' fans, your two-game winning streak came against teams (SF, CAR) with a combined record of 6-12. Amazingly enough this team is only 2 games back of the division leading Bucs… such is the NFC South. Atlanta has got some production out of there running game with Warrick Dunn topping the 100 total yards the last two weeks but that should quickly come to an end with Jerious Norwood back healthy, frustrating fantasy owners in the process. The Falcons are also contemplating a QB change as head coach Bobby Petrino has yet to name a starter but did make clear that Byron Leftwich, once healthy, would return to the lineup. Leftwich did practice Wednesday with the second-team offense.
- Start: N/A
- Consider: RB Warrick Dunn, WR Roddy White
- Sit: TE Alge Crumpler, RB Jerious Norwood, QB Joey Harrington, WR Joe Horn, WR Michael Jenkins
