Game Preview
Antonio D'Arcangelis
Predicted Score: Chargers 28, Lions 19
San Diego: While it's never smart to expect the Chargers to resume their '06 form in any particular matchup, it's safe to assume the offense should be able to tear apart the vulnerable Lions defense, which surrenders nearly 100 points per game to fantasy offenses in PPR leagues (for a frame of reference, the top defense in shutting down fantasy opponents - the Steelers - only give up about 60 total fantasy points per game in PPR leagues). So get the usual suspects in your lineup this week, including the much-maligned Philip Rivers, and play them with confidence.
- Start: RB LaDainian Tomlinson, TE Antonio Gates, QB Philip Rivers, WR Chris Chambers
- Consider: WR Vincent Jackson, Chargers D/ST
- Sit: WR Buster Davis
Detroit: It's been a disappointing season for the Lions offense, and Sunday should be no different, with the Chargers defense playing at a high level and causing lots of turnovers - something Jon Kitna and his cohorts need little help with. Ah - if only they doled out fantasy points for blind allegiance to an apathetic creator who's bent on seeing your team wallow near the basement of the NFC North. And if last week is any example, the creator seems to favor to young, vivacious QBs who gravitate toward eccentric wideouts and curvaceous pop singers.
- Start: RB Kevin Jones, WR Shaun McDonald
- Consider: WR Calvin Johnson QB Jon Kitna
- Sit: WR Mike Furrey, WR Roy Williams (out) RB T.J. Duckett, TE Dan Campbell, Lions D/ST
