Game Preview
Antonio D'Arcangelis
Predicted Score: Patriots 42, Jets 13
New England: This could get ugly, and everybody might have a hand in the debacle. The Patriots will look or every chance to run it up against the Jets, just to get another 30-point victory under their belts and prove they don't need to cheat to pile it on. If there's a starter you'd sit, it would be Laurence Maroney, but I think you've definitely got to consider him since the Jets have such a poor run defense.
- Start: QB Tom Brady, WR Randy Moss, WR Wes Welker, WR Donte Stallworth
- Consider: RB Laurence Maroney, WR Jabar Gaffney, TE Ben Watson, Patriots D/ST
- Sit: Backup RB Kevin Faulk, QB Matt Cassel (He won't play until the fourth)
New York Jets: The Patriots defense has been exposed a couple times down the stretch, and while I think there's an outside chance this could be a game, you'd be going way out on a limb to predict any kind of finish within 10 points. Sure, the Jets could score a few garbage TDs, but the Pats will undoubtedly limit the number of opportunities the Jets get in second half by throwing lots of short slants to Wes Welker and mounting a few long, sustained drives. Of all the Jets starters the past couple years, Jerricho Cotchery has had the best games against the Pats, but he's just one man and Kellen Clemens has yet to develop a consistent rapport with him.
- Start: N/A
- Consider: WR Jerricho Cotchery, RB Thomas Jones
- Sit: QB Kellen Clemens RB Leon Washington, TE Chris Baker, WR Brad Smith
