Predicted Score: Steelers 24, Rams 20
Pittsburgh: The Steelers are tough bunch to figure out. They want us to believe their in the top echelon of the AFC yet they drop games to Arizona, Denver, the Jets, and now find themselves tied atop the AFC North with the Browns. Sure, the defense is tough as nails but the Quarterback has a bum shoulder rendering Santonio useless and Willie Parker for all his running around can't seem to find the end zone. What gives? They are better than the Rams, but do you get the feeling you can't trust these guys come playoff time? They have two weeks to figure it out.
- Start: RB Willie Parker, WR Hines Ward, TE Heath Miller
- Consider: QB Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers D/ST, K Jeff Reed
- Sit: WR Santonio Holmes, WR Cedrick Wilson, WR Nate Washington
St. Louis: Marc Bulger returned to the lineup last week throwing for 219 yds, 1 TD and 2 INTs against the Packers and now faces an even better pass defense, the Steelers, which has only allowed one quarterback (Tom Brady) to throw for more than 300 yards. Handing off to Stephen Jackson might seem like the logical thing to do although the Steelers rank 3rd against the run only allowing two running backs (Thomas Jones & Fred Taylor) to gain over 100 yards. In short, the Rams have no business winning this game but they are at home and given the schizophrenic nature of the Steelers this season, stranger things have happened.
- Start: QB Marc Bulger, RB Steven Jackson, WR Torry Holt
- Consider: WR Isaac Bruce
- Sit: WR Drew Bennettm, TE Randy McMichael, K Jeff Wilkins
