Predicted Score: Giants 24, Redskins 10
Washington: My Redskins-lovin' buddy Erik called me at work today to ask about me "banging in," since apparently that's what it's called at the cement plant when you call in sick. So I told him I wasn't "El Capitan del Bango" (which was actually all he asked me - he queried "No El Capitan del Bango?" and waited for a response) and then told him he was an idiot because (1) he called me at work and I was there - so I obviously hadn't banged in; and (2) he's a Redskins fan and he's completely given up on the team this week. He says Clinton Portis is through running effectively and the only guy who's got a shot at scoring is Chris Cooley. He's also not too excited about the prospect of Todd Collins getting chased around by Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora for 60 minutes. Unfortunately, I had to agree with him on the last two points.
- Start: RB Clinton Portis, TE Chris Cooley
- Consider: WR Santana Moss
- Sit: WR Antwaan Randle El, RB Ladell Betts, QB Todd Collins Redskins D/ST
New York Giants: Their defensive line is so good, they've always got a chance to eradicate the QB, take the ball away and get a few easy shots in the red zone. With that said, I think that's what might happen in this one. I don't foresee any long, arduous drives from the Boys in Blue, but I do see a couple Eli Manning tosses to Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey, with a Jacobs "bang-in" to boot.
- Start: QB Eli Manning, WR Plaxico Burress, TE Jeremy Shockey, RB Brandon Jacobs, Giants D/ST
- Consider: WR Amani Toomer
- Sit: RB Reuben Droughns
