Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Giants 23, Bears 20
New York Giants: After four interceptions last week (three returned for TDs) Eli Manning still has a starting job. Of course, when the alternative is the Pillsbury Doughboy I can't blame Tom Coughlin for sticking with Manning. More bad news for the Giants passing game… it seems you can add sprained knee to the list of Plaxico Burress' injuries. The star wide receiver suffered the injury in last week's game but is expected to play along with running back Derrick Ward who is ready to return from his own knee injury. Brandon Jacobs remains out, leaving Ward and Droughns to split the rushing duties.
- Start: WR Plaxico Burress, TE Jeremy Shockey
- Consider: Derrick Ward, QB Eli Manning
- Sit: WR Amani Toomer RB Brandon Jacobs, Giants D/ST, WR Steve Smith
Chicago: The Bears are a psycho team, which is why I'm picking them to fall on their face and lose to the Giants this week. Devin Hester single-handedly won that game against Denver and while he is one of the most dynamic players in the league, you can't count on that kind of performance every week. The Giants have learned their lesson and seen enough film… they will NOT kick to Hester and take their chances against Rex Grossman. Sounds like a good plan to man. Adrian Peterson (the other one) will get the start for the injured Cedric Benson.
- Start: RB Adrian Peterson, Bears D/ST
- Consider: WR Bernard Berrian, TE Greg Olsen
- Sit: QB Brian Griese, TE Desmond Clark, WR Muhsin Muhammad, K Robbie Gould, RB Cedric Benson
