Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Saints 24, Eagles 17
Philadelphia: The Eagles are coming off a not-so-surprising win over Dallas, as any division game is tough this time of year. However, we'll see how they play this week now that their slim playoff hopes have been dashed. Brian Westbrook, who has taken a beating from fantasy owners this week for his "kneel-down" at the one-yard line, continues to show well racking up 144 total yards last week despite sitting out practice much of the week to rest his chronic knee soreness. Expect the same non-practice routine this week and another 100+ yards on the field against the Saints.
- Start: RB Brian Westbrook
- Consider: QB Donovan McNabb
- Sit: WR Reggie Brown, WR Kevin Curtis TE Matt Schobel, Eagles-D/ST, TE L.J. Smith
New Orleans: The Saints at 7-7 are still alive for a playoff spot but must win their last two and likely get some help along the way. They've rallied from a 0-4 start to get to this point thanks in large part to the awakening of their offense. Drew Brees has become a must start each week, throwing for at least two scores in his last four games while Marques Colston is averaging 106 yards per game since Week 9. The Eagles defense has been decent against the pass this year shutting down Romo and Hasselbeck in recent weeks.
- Start: QB Drew Brees, WR Marques Colston
- Consider: RB Aaron Stecker, WR David PatteRn, K Olindo Mare
- Sit: TE Eric Johnson, RB Reggie Bush, WR Devery Henderson, TE Mark Campbell
