Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Seahawks 24, Cardinals 17
Seattle: The Seahawks are on a four game winning streak and can clinch the NFC West with a win over Arizona. Shaun Alexander is back in the mix as he carried the ball 20 times last week (65 yds, 1TD) while Maurice Morris carried just 5 times (64 yds 1 TD). Maybe Maurice should be getting more carries? On the receiving end, Branch, Engram, and Burleson all received significant targets (10, 8, 7 respectively) making it tough to find a consistent starter among the group. A couple of notes: Matt Hasselbeck has thrown two touchdowns in 6 of his last 7 games and Seattle has won 32 of their last 39 at home.
- Start: QB Matt Hasselbeck, RB Shaun Alexander, WR Deion Branch, WR Bobby Engram, K Josh Brown
- Consider: WR Nate Burleson
- Sit: TE Marcus Pollard, Seahawks D/ST
Arizona: The Cardinals beat the Seahawks way back in Week Two (23-20) but have serious problems with their talented wide receiving corps. Both Anquan Boldin (dislocated toe) and Larry Fitgerald (groin) are banged up and questionable to play this week. Boldin has missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday while Fitzgerald has been limited both days. Bryant Johnson will move into the starting lineup if either start doesn't play and with the passing game missing its main weapons, expect to see more work for Edgerring James.
- Start: RB Edgerrin James, WR Bryant Johnson
- Consider: QB Kurt Warner
- Sit: WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Anquan Boldin, WR Bryant Johnson, TE Leonard Pope
