Predicted Score: Jaguars 24, Panthers 16
Carolina: Coming off a 31-14 victory over the 49ers the Panthers find themselves ten-point underdogs this week, with good reason. Jacksonville is a well-rounded team that poses problems for any team they face. With Testaverde at the helm Carolina has its best offensive showings but the Jags have no problem stuffing the run, making the 44 year-old QB a sitting duck on forced passing situations. Expect typical, mediocre numbers from Foster (60 yds) with Steve Smith being your only fantasy play as the Panthers teeter on getting blown out.
- Start: WR Steve Smith
- Consider: RB DeShaun Foster, QB Vinny Testaverde
- Sit: RB DeAngelo Williams, WR Drew Carter, WR Keary Colbert, WR Dwayne Jarrett, TE Jeff King
Jacksonville: The Jaguars fell to the Colts last week handing the division to Indianapolis and leaving Jacksonville to battle with Tennessee for second in the AFC South. At 8-4, the Jags are still in great shape for a home playoff game and tacking on a win here against Carolina seems like a no-brainer. Fred Taylor is coming off back-to-back 100-yd rushing games while Maurice Jones-Drew has scored a touchdown in his last four. Reggie Williams is starting to hover around 60 receiving yards per game and the lone fantasy consideration in the Jacksonville passing attack. Marcus Stroud will return this week after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
- Start: RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Jaguars D/ST
- Consider: QB David Garrard, RB Fred Taylor, K Josh Scobee, WR Reggie Williams
- Sit: WR Dennis Northcutt, WR Ernest Wilford, TE Marcedes Lewis
