Predicted Score: Broncos 24, Chiefs 14
Kansas City: The Chiefs have struggled against Denver recently… who am I kidding, the Chiefs are struggling, period. Losing four straight on the road to the Broncos is the least of their worries; just find a quarterback to stay upright on Sunday would be a start. Both Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard have been knocked silly this season thanks to a shaky offensive line. Croyle has practiced on a limited basis this week. Tony Gonzalez has been the lone bright spot with four 100-yd games this season. Despite making an appearance on the practice field, Larry Johnson will miss his fifth straight game with a foot injury.
- Start: TE Tony Gonzalez
- Consider: RB Kolby Smith, WR Dwayne Bowe
- Sit: QB Brodie Croyle, RB Larry Johnson, QB Damon Huard, WR Samie Parker, WR Eddie Kennison
Denver: The Broncos and Travis Henry got some good news this week. Henry won his appeal of a one-year suspension over a failed drug test, meaning he will be available to the Broncos for the rest of the season. What is worrisome is a troubling knee, which Henry admits is about 80% right now. He will get the start this week but will likely share carries with Selvin Young. Denver won the last matchup between these two teams, beating the Chiefs 27-11 in a game that wasn't close. Selvin Young ran for 109 yards in that contest and the Chiefs have been surprisingly soft against the run in recent memory giving up 177 yards to Tomlinson and 139 yards to Fargas the last two games. The Broncos with ease…
- Start: RB Travis Henry, WR Brandon Marshall
- Consider: QB Jay Cutler, WR Brandon Stokley, K Jason Elam
- Sit: TE Tony Scheffler, WR Javon Walker, TE Daniel Graham
