Usage Notes: Week 3

By Mike Krueger | Updated: 9/21/24

Each week, I’ll look at snaps, usage, touches, target shares and pull out the highlights you need to know from each game.

- All games will be available Monday afternoon each week.

New England

Offensive Snaps: 52

RB Rhamondre Stevenson: 24 snaps (46.2%), 40% rush share, 0% tgt share
RB Antonio Gibson: 19 snaps (36.5%), 33.3% rush share, 12.5% tgt share

Perhaps due to the short week, but the Pats gave more work to Gibson (8 touches) in Week 3. Don’t think this a trend and I expect Rhamondre (6 touches) to have his lead-back role moving forward.

WR K.J. Osborn: 39 snaps (75%), 0.0% tgt share
WR Demario Douglas: 43 snaps (82.7%), 37.5% tgt share
WR Tyquan Thornton: 17 snaps (32.7%), 4.2% tgt share
WR Ja’Lynn Polk: 26 snaps (50%), 8.3% tgt share

The Patriots threw for 120 yards. Yuck. None of these receivers are worth having in fantasy football.

TE Hunter Henry: 33 snaps (63.5%), 12.5% tgt share
TE Austin Hooper: 30 snaps (57.7%), 16.7% tgt share

Too many snaps and targets for Hooper in this game, affecting Henry’s production.

NY Jets

Offensive Snaps: 73

RB Breece Hall: 52 snaps (71.2%), 48.5% rush share, 14.7% tgt share
RB Braelon Allen: 23 snaps (%), 31.5% rush share, 8.8% tgt share

I mentioned last week that Allen played well enough to earn a role and that happened in Week 3. Breece started the game but Braelon came in on series #2. Breece will still have a solid lead-back role, but has lost the “workhorse” label for now.

WR Garrett Wilson: 64 snaps (87.7%), 26.5% tgt share
WR Allen Lazard: 61 snaps (83.6%), 8.8% tgt share
WR Mike Williams: 33 snaps (45.2%), 11.8% tgt share

Williams is till third on the depth chart behind Lazard but we likely would’ve have seen more Williams had the game been closer. Rodgers mentioned after the game that the first three opponents for the Jets have all focused on taking away Garrett Wilson.

TE Tyler Conklin: 67 snaps (91.8%), 17.6% tgt share

Conklin’s first solid game of the season (5-93-0). Finished second on the team in targets. Still a TE2.
